designer’s own words:
The product turns two plastic bottles into a clothes hanger by screwing the bottles into the hook. By the concept that reuses empty plastic bottles, I try to present to consumers a realistic idea to address environmental realities and encourage the reuse of already “consumed” items to form a new functional product. The design incorporates the following features that make it practical and appealing to both producers and consumers: • Low cost, realistic commodity • The shape of the bottle provides more fit support for the shoulder of clothes than traditional ones • Inspire the interest of users: the concept will attract consumers and inspire a rethinking of consumption habits

Large quantities of disposable plastic cups are common site after any party. This is a modular structured system made of used disposable plastic cups and paper clips. In day time it functions as natural light source lighting and at night time it functions as light fixture with 220 volt light bulb situated inside the system. Similar to bee-hives structure this system can grow to any size and it is much stronger then its component.

the beatrice inn NY…

Purple Fashion Magazine, the paradise of the super Editorials….

l_e345fcc2a0b9c2eaeaf595398cecbb61.jpg

So who actually is this warm brother on the Cover? ;)

Photographed of my dearest Terry Richardson, no one smaller than the adorable André adorns the Cover of the issue for fall/winter…
Not further exciting if he wouldn’t be the partner of Chloé Sevigny’s brother Paul.
Together they are leading the notorious club Beatrice Inn in New York…

And their concept seems to work: no VIP rooms, no guest lists, no bad music, no crummy parties and no sleazy style. The club is poppin’ like always crowded and the Boheme is apart itself:

monday_night_at_beatrice.jpg

Well, if a hipster, a celebrity, and a Side Car had a child, the Beatrice Inn would be it. Nestled in the heart of the West Village, the Beatrice mixes old-world charm with West Chelsea exclusivity. Don’t believe us? Try showing up on a whim and getting through the door. If, by some chance, you get into the cozy confines, make sure to nab a seat by the building’s original fireplace for your perfect-martini sip-fest.

All in all, Beatrice is living proof that quiet is the new loud in New York…just don’t tell anybody!

dick in a box..

October 17th, 2007 by kittylaboom

I’ve ever been a big fan of Justin Timberlake.. Yes, you heard right… But which girl is not? and… who actually cares??
So even if the following tie-clip is quite old, I cannot withhold it from you: Justin Timberlake in its best role as Chav Player. Instead of diamonds to give away, there is somewhat completely special for the Ladies, avowedly in three steps:

1. Cut a whole in that box
2. Put your junk in that box
3. Make her open the box
And that’s the way you Do it: That’s my dick in a box!

Here is the uncut version, understands itself: Performed for the Saturday Night Live Show in collaboration with Andy Samberg.

post.it.art.

October 12th, 2007 by kniepuder

in the corporate world, climbing ladders and shaking hands are running simultaneous.
between lunches, dinners, and meetings, something had to surface among the numbing uv lights of the office to keep everything in line. the post-it note, a small square with re-adhearable adhesive on the back, was such one answer. the three-inch bright yellow square is employed as a reminder, a note, or for organization… but some don’t see it as only a productivity tool… they see it as a medium for colorful art.

even on 3m’s corporate site the post-it notes are sold with the slogan “so express yourself in color.” some creative people took that idea to their heart…

below are several examples of how people have used the sticky notes to create works of art.

LAlife…

September 8th, 2007 by kittylaboom

alifehomejpg.jpg

On September 1st Alife opened their LA store. The concept is once again ground-breaking and well translated into a retail concept.
The store is made like a walk-through shop window. All product are hanging behind glass on the wall, you can choose what you want and they will bring it.
They also brought back lots of great products that were sold out everywhere else. From the Puma x Alife First Round, old Alife t-shirts, Adidas x Alife collaboration, Reebok x Alife collaboration to a lot more - it’s all there.
We think it’s very refreshing what Alife did in LA once again…

heartsREVOLUTION - C.Y.O.A….

August 30th, 2007 by kittylaboom

hr3-794971.jpg

Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Lo who came from a fast paced city where adventure was around the corner. This big city was full of smog, palm trees, and neon signs. There were millions of people in this city, but the longer she lived there, the lonelier she felt…

Once there was a young boy named Benjamin who came from a land of calm winds and four seasons. In many ways, life there was quite simple. But, the boy grew older and one day decided to see what else the world may have in store for him. So he headed west in pursuit of the unknown…

….Through an intricate combination of chance and circumstance, he found the young girl. The two quickly realized that their forces were much stronger together than they ever were apart.

heartschallenger.jpg

Lo was so inspired by her new found love that she went on to design an ice cream truck that would drive around the city and spread fun and magic. Ben was so inspired by his new muse that he created a soundtrack of music for their truck and their life.

On any given night they are on one mission or another. You might find them starting impromptu dance parties with their new ep out of the truck, or postering the city with inspiring messages…Or maybe hanging golden hearts from street lines….You never know.

Together they stay home and tinker….playing games, creating wonder and sounds…. Conspiring on their next plans of attack…. You see, it is a very difficult task to navigate through dark forces of the city in which they reside.
You may think that once they found each other, the rest would have been easy. But, that is far from true. During the two month long process of making the debut double ep, the two were tested in ways that normal human beings would think was out of a science fiction movie……

By clutching onto the thought that others would be inspired by their music, they were able to perserve and finish the project. The result is a collection of songs divided into two parts. Side A contains electronic dance/soundtrack songs. Side B contains electronic heartschallenger ice cream truck songs. All of the songs were derived from love songs left on answering machines, and some of the beats were made by listening to each other’s heartbeat with a stethoscope. With a finished double ep and a truck stocked with international ice cream, candy and treats, what were the two to do next? In order to share their magic others, they need assistance in spreading the word of the beauty they have created.

Just remember, the greatest challenges are ones from the heart…………

5 year diary…

August 16th, 2007 by kittylaboom

c0121_00.jpg

Brought to you by The Ice Plant in collaboration with Shopsin’s General Store, this charming, pint-sized and extremely well-designed diary, inspired by a 2006 story in The New York Times, lets you keep track of your life with just a few lines every day for five years.

Each page of the diary is devoted to one day of the year and subdivided into five sections-so that as time goes by, past entries can be read as new ones are written. Clothbound in delicate, nubby pinstripes with a red ribbon bookmark, it is designed so that it can be started on any day of the year, even on a leap year. In the back of the diary are pages to record books read and places traveled.

An ideal gift for sophisticated nostalgics, new parents, dreamers, schemers and plain old lovers of good design.
