Toygiants is a breathtaking book that takes an illustrated journey into the world of toys.
By Daniel and Geo Fuchs, this collection of photos not only captures the pure enjoyable essence of toys, but it also casts light on the idea of this tangible medium having the capacity to impact our perception of reality and fiction.
Seriously, this book is mega-heavy in a deep kinda way so don’t pass this up.
This 10 x 12.5-Inch book is the perfect size for your coffee table, and it’s 216 glossy, full color pages will keep you visually entertained for hours.
Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Lo who came from a fast paced city where adventure was around the corner. This big city was full of smog, palm trees, and neon signs. There were millions of people in this city, but the longer she lived there, the lonelier she felt…
Once there was a young boy named Benjamin who came from a land of calm winds and four seasons. In many ways, life there was quite simple. But, the boy grew older and one day decided to see what else the world may have in store for him. So he headed west in pursuit of the unknown…
….Through an intricate combination of chance and circumstance, he found the young girl. The two quickly realized that their forces were much stronger together than they ever were apart.
Lo was so inspired by her new found love that she went on to design an ice cream truck that would drive around the city and spread fun and magic. Ben was so inspired by his new muse that he created a soundtrack of music for their truck and their life.
On any given night they are on one mission or another. You might find them starting impromptu dance parties with their new ep out of the truck, or postering the city with inspiring messages…Or maybe hanging golden hearts from street lines….You never know.
Together they stay home and tinker….playing games, creating wonder and sounds…. Conspiring on their next plans of attack…. You see, it is a very difficult task to navigate through dark forces of the city in which they reside.
You may think that once they found each other, the rest would have been easy. But, that is far from true. During the two month long process of making the debut double ep, the two were tested in ways that normal human beings would think was out of a science fiction movie……
By clutching onto the thought that others would be inspired by their music, they were able to perserve and finish the project. The result is a collection of songs divided into two parts. Side A contains electronic dance/soundtrack songs. Side B contains electronic heartschallenger ice cream truck songs. All of the songs were derived from love songs left on answering machines, and some of the beats were made by listening to each other’s heartbeat with a stethoscope. With a finished double ep and a truck stocked with international ice cream, candy and treats, what were the two to do next? In order to share their magic others, they need assistance in spreading the word of the beauty they have created.
Just remember, the greatest challenges are ones from the heart…………
Sans is for women who get that fashion can be a little strange, a lot architectural and totally off expectations. Sans is for the girl who is daring, loves Alexander McQueen and doesn’t give two wits whether some chick in J. Crew is shooting her nasty glances for disobeying the “rules.”
The collection from the label Sans has caught our eye for two reasons:
1. Strength of design - unusual cuts, patterns and totally fearless shapes.
2. Materials - The collection offers jeans made from Japanese Denim, which is created from blending organic cotton and wool. The knitwear is made from vegetable cashmere and other organic materials. So, you know, it’s got that whole eco-thing going on, which is the latest (and best) fashion trend we’ve seen in a long while.
Oh, the simplicity of it! We have seen a lot of over-designed so-called solutions for keeping your chargers and devices organized, neat and off the floor. But we found that the Load-Ding (got it?) is the smartest of the bunch.
A flat piece of white plastic, flocked on the inside in black, red or pink forms a “tray” that cradles your power-hungry device and keeps it safe. Easy to use, great to travel with and, above all, supremely practical.
What else would you expect from German design? Available at a+r store for about € 15….

Brought to you by The Ice Plant in collaboration with Shopsin’s General Store, this charming, pint-sized and extremely well-designed diary, inspired by a 2006 story in The New York Times, lets you keep track of your life with just a few lines every day for five years.
Each page of the diary is devoted to one day of the year and subdivided into five sections-so that as time goes by, past entries can be read as new ones are written. Clothbound in delicate, nubby pinstripes with a red ribbon bookmark, it is designed so that it can be started on any day of the year, even on a leap year. In the back of the diary are pages to record books read and places traveled.
An ideal gift for sophisticated nostalgics, new parents, dreamers, schemers and plain old lovers of good design.

The 40cozy is a neoprene beer cozy (some call it a koozie) for 40oz, malt-liquor bottles.
It fits snuggly around the bottle and gives it some class.
Think back to last time you were sitting on the front porch smoking weed and drinking 40s.
Remember what a buzzkill it was when the wet pearls of condensation on the outside of the bottle kept making your fingers wet and your blunt soggy? It must have sucked, but henceforth you’ll be able to stay high with your hands dry now that you can wrap your favorite malt liquors in sweet, soft 40 cozies.
Basically, hydro74 took the skull he has in his office, did a simple photo of it with his iphone.
He worked on the line art around the piece, then flipped and modified the illustration.

He mostly works as an interactive designer. It’s his attention captured by details which are, in his opinion, the most interesting features to observe in order to deeply understand the shades things and people may offer.
If you haven’t heard of FREEMAN, you must have been living under a rock somewhere oblivious to the handle this man has over the scene at the moment. Sneaker Freaker points the mic at Freeman, the Art Director of Finland’s wild child apparel and skateboard juggernaut CTRL. Very nice interview!!! >>Weed gets it’s propers.
As a skateboarder, Harold Hunter was sponsored most notably by Zoo York. He also owned Rock Star Bearings Co. He skated goofy-footed, and some of his favorite skateboarding tricks included the Backside Heel, 360 Ollie, Nollie Heel, Feeble Grind and the Switch Crooked Grind.
On February 17, 2006, Harold Hunter’s brother discovered him in his Lower East Side apartment, dead from an apparent cocaine overdose. Police investigators later stated that cocaine was found both adjacent to and on the body. He was 31 years old. His phrase still lives on: “Legends Never Die”. This book is in memory of Harold Hunter.
